You know Halloween is over when the circulars start coming with Christmas sales
Oh dear god....

On the one hand, I'm glad that Amaya is still too young for us to have to deal with this. On the other hand, I can't imagine this toy is going to go away any time soon.

My First Kenmore

At least they don't have a little girl standing in the product picture (unlike the matching kitchen set)? But it's filed under girls' toys and it's baby pink. This isn't even a product Kenmore actually offers (yes, I checked - their stackable washer/dryers don't look like this) and not even their side-by-sides come in pink. I suspect because when we think of appliances, we think of white or maybe beige machines in clean, squared lines, maybe some chrome. Not pink.

Yes, I know, you all missed my feminist rage rants. :p

Stereotypes are so hard to break. And things like this only encourage them. I guess they figure we need something to wash Barbie's clothes in or something. *rolls eyes*

The stacked set is something like four feet high, so that would be ... a lot of Barbie clothes. ;)

I won't deny that at one point, I probably had enough to fill it... probably with some left over. ;P

...That almost makes it worse. At that size, it's not even targeted to toddlers wanting to emulate parents like the stage Akina's going through right now. It's targeted at the older girls who are more susceptible to being pigeon-holed into stereotypes. -__-

Thanks. Now Sumire wants it just BECAUSE it's pink. Although she insists it would be better if it were a brighter pink, rather than pastel. :P

She still hasn't gotten over her obsession with it. Not that I have any room to talk... :P
